Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Senseo HD7810/95 1450-Watt Single-Serve Coffeemaker, BlueCustomer Review: I love it, but it leaks! Summary: 4 StarsI have owned two Senseo machines and for the most part love them. I only drink one cup of coffee as I get ready for work, and this machine is perfect! I usually drink a mild brew (before this machine I was the average Yuban, Folgers type coffee drinker) but to get a decent sized cup of coffee you need to use two pods, so what I do is buy the dark roast, use one pod and make the "two" cup size. The only drawback to the machine is waking up in the morning and finding the tank empty and the maker sitting in a puddle of water! I got rid of my first machine due to this issue. When my second one did the same thing I called the manufacturer. They told me that there is a small gasket at the base of the machine that can lose it's seal when the machine is pushed or jarred. Since I love this machine, I just deal with it and NEVER slide my machine across the counter. Overall, if you are a one cup average joe coffee drinker I highly recommend, but can't give 5 stars due to the leaking.
Customer Review: Excellent Customer service and better coffee then Keurig Summary: 5 StarsI owned my Senseo HD7210 for a little over a year and a half (using it anywhere from 6-8 times a day I am an avid drinker!). I threw away the receipt after a few months since I figured i would never need it. When I called customer service to figure out why the motor was not working properly they asked me for the numbers on the bottom and said no problem we will send you a brand new Senseo in the mail today. Not only did I get a brand new Senseo (with tin cans this time!) but they sent prepaid shipping for me to return my old model and they also gave me a new 2 year warrenty. I honestly expected them to say throw it away and buy another but that was not the case.
As for the coffee. I tried the flavored varieties as soon as they came out and they leave a lot to be desired. But the medium and dark roasts are wonderful. I fill my travel mugs at least twice a day only using one pod (I use the 2 cup option and even add some milk and the taste is wonderful). The coffeeduck is a reusable filter that allows you to use what ever type of coffee you enjoy so if you do not like the senseo pods others are out there. I went through two Keurigs and hated both of them. The first arrived at my house with defects (vibrated my cup off the saucer and was extremely loud and had weak coffee while the second just had extremely weak coffee). The Keurig cost almost $150 and 18 pods are $9.99. Senseo's prices are better, the customer service is better, and I honestly believe the coffee is better.
I love my coffee as I brew an entire pot in my Mr. Coffee machine (just for me mind you) and then I snack on the Senseo for my evening coffee. If I can try four different pods of Keurig and say to all of them the Senseo is better and then read Keurigs reviews of their blotched customer service then I think I try and help people make that wonderful decision of what coffee maker to buy! Good luck in your research!
Oh and lastly you do not need to prime your machine every time you make a pod.....I prime my machine about once a month sometimes once every two months and the coffee always tastes pretty much the same. I turn it on when I wake up and put in a pod. Brush my teeth and when I come back the machine is ready for my first cup of the day. No real waiting to complain about. Some of these reviews seem like they need to stare at the pot for the 60-90 seconds it takes to warm up. Hope this helps!
Customer Review: Overall very good for what it is. Summary: 4 StarsIf you want a quick copy of coffee this is a pretty good unit. The cost factor is quite high though.
Customer Review: Nice Machine! Senseo pods awful!! Summary: 5 StarsFirst I must say that you do not have to use the Senseo pods in this machine. I used pods of my choice and it made a good cup of coffee. Of course you need to be sure the pods fit. I received the senseo pods, tried them, and the coffee was very bad! I'm giving them away! Plus they are more expensive than others. I do not recommend the senseo pods.
You do need to experiment at first with different amounts of water, etc.. But remember it's a new machine, a new experience. Everyone has different tastes. It only took me 2 tries to get the taste I prefer.
As far as prepping it before each brewing, I did not see that in the instructions! That is not necessary! You do need to prep before first time. Then I would prep it every few cycles.
In sum, I highly recommend this machine. I had a different brand before this one that was very cheaply made, and died in months. Enjoy!
Customer Review: Senseo Coffee Maker Summary: 5 StarsThis was a replacement purchase for an old Senseo that we used up. A must have item in our house.
