Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Senseo HD7810/75 1450-Watt Single-Serve Coffeemaker, Blue

Customer Review: LIFE-CHANGING BREW!
Summary: 5 Stars

I was given a Senseo coffeemaker 5 years ago and I will never go back to traditional coffee pots. I even bought a Senseo for the office! I also, like the previous reviewer, like my coffee strong and dark (formerly drank New Orleans Blend Community!) and find that 2 pods of the Senseo Dark Roast are perfect. One of my little personal tricks is sprinkling cocoa on the crema a la Italia! When I'm away from home I MISS IT SO MUCH. Life changing? You better believe it!!!!

Customer Review: I like it
Summary: 4 Stars

I typically make a single cup of coffee every morning and more often than not, a single cup in the afternoon sometime.

After my little 4-cup maker bit the dust, I acquired one of these machines (kind of a gift really). I have to say that I really do like it. The priming of the machine is hideously loud. The brewing cycle is loud also, but not quite as loud and certainly not as long.

I have found that I need to use the double pod for the 4-oz cup for the strength that I like. The pods can be quite expensive, in the neighborhood of $4.50 for 18 of them (give or take a little depending on where you get them). I HIGHLY recommend that you consider getting the reusable pods that you can pack with any coffee you like.

All in all I really like the machine, although, I doubt I would have (personally) shelled out about $65 for it!

Customer Review: Simply Awesome

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3J8MAMNFFCKKN This video shows you the Senseo in action. I forgot to mention a couple of things in the video such as the fact that you can stick a couple of tea bags in the big pod holder and make tea, and that the Dixie cups I use can also be tilted out without spilling. I used to have a Braun coffee maker that was very expensive and that I used very seldom. I got the Senseo gift pack that comes with the machine, a bunch of coffee samples, a travel mug and the storage tins for the pods and I would recommed getting that instead of just the machine since the price it's almost the same and you get to try different blends and the pod storage tins are very useful and the travel mug is pretty and convenient. I got it at Target for a bit less than the Amazon price and I almost bought me a second one when I saw it at Walmart for as low as $35 (yes the gift pack for $35!). One last thing I want to say is that the coffee is not as strong as gorumet coffee (which I hate) but it's not as light as instant (which I like) but it's just perfect for me since I put a bunch of heavy cream in my coffee anyway, draw your own conclusions. And last I would mention that it's not as fast to use as it looks but it's faster and more convenient that old fashioned coffee makers. Some people have pointed out that old fashioned coffee makers are much cheaper to use and I would say that is true but since I never used mine that point is moot for me, I used to stop at the gas station every morning for my coffee and I will tell you that it's a lot cheaper to use the Senseo and much more pleasant as well. Also there's no waste, I hate wasting stuff and since my hubby doesn't drink coffee very often it works on that point as well for me as I would think it would work for others in a similar situations where there's only one person that fancies coffee on a regular basis.

Customer Review: Great senseo
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great versatile coffee maker. It makes the best regular coffee (with foam). Additionally, it makes great latte, cappuccino, tea, etc.

Customer Review: Pretty Impressed
Summary: 4 Stars

I've had this machine for a couple of weeks now and have had no problems with the functionality. The pros are that it makes a cup of great tasting coffee or tea in about 1-2 minutes (from the time you fill up the water, it's unbelievable). Also, it is easy to clean. One drawback is that you can only use pods in the machine, and the only brands I've seen are Senseo's and Folgers. The good news is that Senseo has about a dozen diffent styles of coffee, as well as cappuccino, expresso, and teas. Another drawback is that the machine only makes 4oz and 8oz servings. The 8oz serving takes two pods at a cost of about 25 cents per pod (at the cheapest price I've found - Target). If you are not a heavy coffee drinker I would recommend this machine.
